ASEZ WAO Shares “Heart to Heart” Campaign to Chicago Hospital

The members of ASEZ WAO, the Church of God Young Adult Worker Volunteer Group, express their thankfulness to healthcare workers in the Chicagoland area. One of the campaigns that ASEZ WAO helped with was the “Heart to Heart” campaign, where letters of encouragement and snacks were delivered to the medical staff who work at the forefront of combating COVID-19.

The members of ASEZ WAO prepared over 250 care packages and hand-written notes sharing their appreciation to our clinicians and staff for their hard work during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Delivering Packages of Love

Due to the pandemic, the support of all healthcare professionals is more vital now than ever before, especially the city of Chicago. Chicago had experienced an unusually high volume of urgent medical crises needing the care and attention of healthcare professionals.

ASEZ WAO provided special recognition to the medical staff at the Rush University Medical Cancer for their hard work during the COVID-19 pandemic. ASEZ WAO recognized that in addition to taking care of patients who are already in fragile states, the Cancer Center’s doctors, nurses, and administrative hospital staff must find ways to manage pandemic fatigue, stress, and anxiety.

In exchange for the packages, the medical staff expressed their appreciation to the kind gesture that was given. The Director of the Cancer Center, Dr. Mia Levy, couldn’t help but shed tears of joy. “I am in awe of the amount of love that was delivered today, thank you all so much!”

Care packages and handwritten letters to communicate their sincerest thanks.

A nurse said, “You are all amazing, thank you for coming and making our day!”

Although the pandemic produced many difficulties, expressing the “Heart to Heart” campaign to the healthcare workers accomplished the mission in sharing thankfulness, consideration, but most importantly, love.
