Naperville Tornado Cleanup 2021

Tornado Tearing Through Home

On June 21, 2022, a tornado tore through Naperville, Woodridge, and Darien with wind speeds of 136 to 165 mph. This devastating event caused many people’s homes to be damaged, leaving people in shock and despair. With piles of debris everywhere and trees collapsed along the streets, the World Mission Society Church of God Volunteers came together and helped remove the wreckage. They spread love to their neighbors, helping clean their homes.

Many of the residents expressed their gratefulness to the volunteers as they were at a loss at what to do. As the disaster came so suddenly, they woke up to their yards and properties in ruins. Upon seeing the volunteers with bright smiles on their faces to help, they were a glimpse of light to those in hopelessness. They mentioned the way the community came together and supported each other was the one positive thing to come from the disaster.

No matter the location, the Church of God consistently and hurriedly provides disaster relief to those in need. We assist in recovering the damaged areas and take care of victims’ health by providing meals. Through helping with street restoration and cleanups, as well as donating emergency food supplies, relief goods, and warm coats for those suffering from the cold weather, the residents could have a new resolve to continue moving forward.

By this, the World Mission Society Church of God strives to continue spreading love and consideration to our neighbors especially in their times of need. With compassion, we work towards saving lives and overcoming hardships together.
