Seal of God

Although we are living in the age of disaster, the last hope for all humankind is to receive the Passover of the new covenant, which is the seal of God that saves us from the last plagues.

Natural Disasters Are a Warning Sign

The earth is now facing countless natural disasters throughout the world. What is causing the outbreak of so many disasters? According to NASA’s Earth Observatory website, it is humanity that has devastated the earth. Due to the greenhouse gases that are emitted during the process of burning fossil fuels, the earth’s temperatures have been rising faster than scientists had originally predicted. The rapid increase of this earth’s temperature is known as global warming. Today we can see the effects of global warming on the earth through continuous wildfires, hurricanes, earthquakes, tsunamis, and rising sea levels caused by melting ice.

“These natural disasters occur four times as often as they did in 1970” and “ such events could grow in frequency and ferocity.”

These news reports give testimony to what was already prophesied in the Bible.

1 Thes 5:1-3 Now, brothers and sisters, about times and dates we do not need to write to you, for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. While people are saying, “Peace and safety,” destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.

2 Pe 3:5-7 But they deliberately forget that long ago by God’s word the heavens came into being and the earth was formed out of water and by water. By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly.

These verses, along with other verses in the Bible point out that in the last days there are many disasters leading up to the final disaster.

God’s Message of Salvation

With every message of disaster there is also a message of salvation. What message has God brought us in this last age?

Rev 7:1-3   After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds of the earth… Then I saw another angel coming up from the east, having the seal of the living God. He called out in a loud voice… “Do not harm the land or the sea or the trees until we put a seal on the foreheads of the servants of our God.”

The mighty angel from the east is Jesus at his second coming who proclaims that the time for salvation is now. He appears from the east as a sign to his people that the message of salvation is to also come from the end of the earth in the east, indicating South Korea. Nowadays, many Christians are still waiting for the second coming of Christ, but the Bible tells us the time of the second coming of Jesus through Revelation 6.

Rev 6:12-13 I watched as he opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake. The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red, and the stars in the sky fell to earth, as figs drop from a fig tree when shaken by a strong wind.

The sixth seal marks the major historical event in which many Jews, represented as the figs and stars, perished on account of a “strong wind,” symbolizing war (Jer 4:11-12). The second world war recorded in the book of Revelation is a timestamp showing that Jesus would appear after 1945. We must seek for the mighty angel before the time of the last judgment and be sealed with the seal of God. Then, what is the seal of God?

What is the Seal of God?

Jn 6:27 “…Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on him God the Father has placed his seal of approval.”

The way to receive the seal of approval is through food that gives eternal life. Jesus Himself showed us the way to receive this life-giving food 2,000 years ago.

Jn 6:53-54 Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.”

The Passover of the new covenant is the way to receive the flesh and blood of Christ which is the life-giving food.

Lk 22:19-20 And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.”

Although churches today keep various rituals containing bread and wine, the Passover is an annual festival held once a year on the 14th day of the first month of the sacred calendar at twilight.

Jesus celebrates the Passover with his disciples

The Church of God Fulfills the Mission

2,000 years ago, Jesus celebrated this ceremony as the feast of life that gave hope for salvation to humankind. Just as the early church kept the Passover, those who keep the Passover at his second coming are those who have been sealed.

To be protected from the impending disasters, we must be sealed by keeping the Passover of the new covenant. It is only the World Mission Society Church of God that keeps the Passover and carries out the work of sealing God’s people in this last age.

The fact that the Church of God celebrates the Passover means that Jesus has already come a second time from the east.
