The Purpose of Life
All humanity is living only to see death in the end. Then, what is the way we can receive the forgiveness of sins? We need to understand the essence of our soul. The Bible explains a specific reason for our short life on Earth and how we can receive the forgiveness of our sins and live forever.
The Existence of the Soul
To find our purpose on Earth and the way to receive the forgiveness of sins, we need to dive deeper into the knowledge of where our souls originate.
Genesis 2:7 Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.
Through the will of God, humans are created with the dust of the ground, representing our physical body, whereas the breath of life, which is the second element that makes a human, defines our soul. It is vitally important to know as the Bible describes where these two will go after death in detail.
Ecclesiastes 12:7 and the dust returns to the ground it came from, and the spirit returns to God who gave it.
As previously mentioned, we need to understand where our souls originated to receive the forgiveness of sins. The verse above states that the dust will return to the ground, and our spirit will return to God. However, what does it mean to return? To return is to go back to a place you’ve been before. Then, as stated in the verse, it must mean our physical body, the dust, is to return to the ground, meaning the Earth. The spirit, in other words, the breath of life, returns to God. As God dwells in heaven, it means our souls will return to God in heaven. This means all humankind living on this Earth was once in heaven with God as angelic beings.
Our Lives in the Angelic Body
There are some examples in the Bible which allow us to comprehend our angelic status before coming to this Earth through King Solomon and Job.
Proverbs 8:22 “The Lord brought me forth as the first of his works, before his deeds of old…before he made the dust of the earth”.
Job 38:1-4, 21 Then the Lord spoke to Job out of the storm. He said: “Who is this that obscures my plans with words without knowledge?… “Where were you when I laid the Earth’s foundation?… Surely you know, for you were already born! You have lived so many years!
Both Solomon and Job recognized they were once angels in heaven with God. In the same way, all humankind, too, were once angels in heaven. Receiving the forgiveness of sins can only be given once we understand why we are here on this Earth going through hardship and pain.
Our Destiny Due to Sin
Why are humans now dwelling on this Earth, living in such agony, only to leave a place we now dream of going to that is filled with eternal joy and happiness? It’s simple. The Bible explains that we have left such a glorious place, losing our status as heavenly angels, because we sinned in heaven.
Luke 19:10 For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”
Matthew 9:13 “… For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”
Now all people on Earth are living out their destiny, not knowing what kind of being they once were. What kind of sin was committed in heaven that we had to come to this lowly Earth only to suffer such agony? If it is thought about in the sense of the justice system in this world, we can say that this Earth is like a prison to our souls. At the same time, our physical flesh is our spiritual prison uniform. We are confined to time and space just as prisoners have a certain amount of time to do specific tasks. They only have time until their destiny, to which our destiny is death. Therefore, the kind of sin committed in heaven is equivalent to the death penalty here on Earth (Ro 6:23). It is impossible to fathom the type of sin achieved in such a place of harmony and love.
Through the words of Jesus, he came to seek those who were lost. Then, that means that all men were lost from their hometown being cast down to this Earth due to the grievous sins committed in heaven. Is there a way to return to our original angelic state?
Redemption Through the Blood of Christ
The forgiveness of sins can be given through God’s instructions. Without forgiveness, humans cannot die and expect to live again. A particular regulation is given to those who know the status of their spiritual state and have dreams of returning in due time.
Ephesians 1:7 In him, we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace.
The blood given through redemption and God’s grace holds the secret to being forgiven of sins committed in heaven through a particular ceremony called the Passover.
Matthew 26:26-28 Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.”. Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.
Luke 22:20 In the same way, after the supper, he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.
The key to the forgiveness of sins was given through flesh and blood of Jesus through the new covenant, that is, the bread and wine of the Passover. When the ceremony is kept following God’s grace, we will give thanks and glory to God because the Bible itself says God alone has the power to forgive the sins warranted to death. The key of the Passover allows us to enter our hometown once again and eternally.
